This is a storied whiskey. Its story told as you discover the layers between you and the liquid.
Beginning with “the red thread of fate” tied around the bottle. The Japanese believe an invisible red thread connects that which is destined to be togheter.
In this case it represents the connection between 2 islands at far sides of the wolrd – Hokkaido and Ireland. Bringing together the world’s best oak, and the world’s best malt. Marrying Japanese design and Irish story telling.
The Japanese aesthetic and simple, yet considered , style runs through out the packaging, as does the Irish love of story telling making it a wonderfully engaging experience even openning the bottle.
The quality of materials and print finishes is rich yet restrained. The focus is on showcasing quality.
Vibrant, fruity and floral on the nose.
Fresh and citrussy with orchard fruits. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel. Biscuity malt throughout. Vanilla, fudge and honey from the bourbon cask. The Mizunara brings dark chocolate orange, sandalwood and cinnamon.
An exceptionally long finish of toasted oak and oriental spices, with the dark chocolate lingering even longer.
